BIOGRAPHY

Inna Angelova was born on the 22nd of October 1990 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in a musician family. At the age of 3 she began improvising on the piano by ear, at 5 she had her first piano lesson and at 6 ½ her first solo recital. In 1997 she was admitted to the National School for Music and Dance “Dobrin Petkov” in Plovdiv which she graduated with excellence in 2008. The same year she was admitted to the Bern University of Arts in Switzerland where she acquired both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Performance Degree with honors. There she studied with Prof. Tomasz Herbut (piano), James Alexander (korrepetition), Edoardo Torbianelli (early keyboard instruments) and Louise Hopkins (chamber music). In 2012 she started her second Master studies at the Zürich University of Arts where she studied with Prof. Eckart Heiligers (piano) and André Desponds (jazz piano). In 2014 she graduated from her Master of Pedagogy studies with excellence.
Inna has participated in international piano Competitions since very young and won numerous prizes, such as   Second Prize at the „Steinway & Sons“ Piano Competition in Hamburg, Grand Prix at „Citta di Moncalieri“ Piano Competition in Torino, First Prize at „Schumann – Brahms“ Piano Competition in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, First Prize at the „Landolt“ Piano Competition Zürich, amongst others. Since July 2010 she has been recognized as a Steinway Young Artist. During her studies she won also several Swiss scholarships like Lyra Stiftung, Schweizerische Interpreten Stiftung, C.A. Kupper Stiftung, Fritz Gerber Stiftung, RAHN Sonderpreis. In 2008 she also received the special prize of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture for high artistic achievements through the years. Her pianistic activities are not confined only to solo performance: she also plays in various ensembles, duets, trios and other musical groups. As a concerto soloist she has played with the Bern Symphonie Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Bern University of the Arts Orchestra, Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra. She has played in several renowned Concert houses, such as Musikhalle Hamburg, Zentrum Paul Klee Bern, Kultur Casino Bern, Kultur Casino Kursaal Interlaken, Grosser Saal des Mozarteum Salzburg to name but a few.
In addition to her concert engagements Inna Angelova is an active Accompanist at various State Choirs, Theaters, Competitions and Masterclasses in Switzerland. She has participated in numerous summer festivals and masterclasses with Dmitri Bashkirov, Michel Dalberto, Henri Sigfridsson, Lars Vogt, Mihaela Ursuleasa, Milena Mollova, Tamara Poddubnaya, Ludmil Angelov. She currently lives in Zürich and teaches her own piano class at the Music Conservatory Zürich (MKZ).
